New Madrid, incorporated in 1808 is Hunter-Dawson Home State Historic Site
situated on the Mississippi River and Interstate 55 (exits 44 and 49).

Mill Street Park Mill Street Park and the pavilion will be closed all day Friday, June 28, 2013 till 3 pm Saturday, June 29, 2013 for the overnight stay of cyclists on the "Ride the Fault Line" bicycle tour.

Flushing of Fire Hydrants The City of New Madrid has recently begun the process of flushing the town's fire hydrants. This has caused some residents to experience brown water. If the brown water has resulted in problems with your laundry, washing powder is available at City Hall.
