Cemetery Transcriptions
Of the 114 cemeteries in New Madrid County, nine are located within the City of New Madrid. Transcriptions of these cemeteries were made from grave markers, by word of mouth, from someone who knew the person buried there or from earlier records. Information was taken from stones starting at one corner of a cemetery and recording the graves as they are buried side by side. This helps keep family members together who are buried together.

When more than one name appears on a stone an asterisk ( * ) will be found following the name.
